Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) is a name of the region of post-communist countries on the territory from Czech Rupublic to Russia. They are also sometimes called "New" or "Emerging Europe". The word "emerging" is particularly in place when we talk about internet, new media and start-ups. For instance, Ukraine, a hosting country of Blogcamp CEE 2008, shows about 100% yearly growth of online advertising market for two years in a row. Nonetheless, regional internet markets are still weakly integrated with global ones. So, we list building a bridge for global-regional communication as one of the goals of Blogcamp CEE 2008.
Eastern-European oriented Blogcamp 2007 in Kyiv was most visited by Ukrainians, followed by Russians, Belorussians and Latvians with some representatives of Poland, Estonia and Kazakhstan. As Blogcamp 2008 expands westwards, this year we are expecting much more people from Central Europe. Western Europeans or people from any other parts of the planet are also welcome!
