An Apple Valley man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing numerous stolen mail, credit cards, checks and other items.

Robert Lasham Jr., 35, was being held Thursday at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, with bail set at $50,000, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials.

The Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that on Tuesday, deputies and detectives served a search warrant in the 20000 block of Waalew Road.

The location of the address, according to area maps, is in Los Ranchos Mobile Home Park west of Dale Evans Parkway.

The warrant resulted from an investigation into an attempted grand theft and stolen mail. The suspect, later identified as Lasham, allegedly used a victim’s information to open multiple accounts, including purchasing a vehicle through Carvana, according to the sheriff’s report.

While executing the search warrant, deputies located hundreds of pieces of mail belonging to different victims, including credit cards, authorities said.

Investigators also confiscated fake ID cards, blank credit cards, card reader, printers, hundreds of pages of blank checks, checks that had been “washed” or were in the process of being changed and fake passport cards, sheriff officials said.

Lasham was arrested and incarcerated at HDDC on suspicion of possession of blank checks, forgery, grand theft and impersonation, according to the sheriff’s report.

In addition to the charges, Lasham has been booked on two misdemeanor warrants. He was scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon, sheriff’s officials said.
