President Cody recognized as an outstanding professional advancing the mission of credit unions

TYSONS, Virginia, October 5, 2021 / PRNewswire / – PenFed Credit Union, the country’s second-largest federal credit union, today announced that President Ed Cody is one of 31 credit union professionals and volunteers named 2021 Credit Union Rock Stars by the editorial team of Credit union magazine.

Cody, a US Army veteran during the Vietnam War, began his work in a credit union at age 19 when he helped a faith-based credit union offer small loans to protect its members against usurers. Each loan payment included a savings deposit to strengthen financial security.

He then worked for entrepreneurs and his own business in a variety of roles that included connecting disabled veterans with employers.
